12-Year-Old Girl Asked to Get in Vehicle

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a child reported being asked to get into a vehicle as she walked home from school Thursday.

The 12-year-old’s father attended the police station to report the incident. He said when his daughter came home from school she reported as she was walking on Edinburgh Road North near London Road West just after 3 p.m. a red car pulled over in front of her and a female asked if she would like to enter the vehicle and go for candy. The child declined and ran home.

The vehicle was described as a red sedan similar to a Chevrolet Cruze. The subject was described as an older white female with brown or white hair. The vehicle was last seen northbound on Edinburgh Road.
