2 Pedestrians Struck by Vehicle, Transported to Trauma Centre

A male and female were transported to a Hamilton trauma centre after they were both struck by an SUV near downtown Tuesday night.

Emergency services were called just before 10 p.m. to Gordon Street south of Waterloo Avenue. Two pedestrians were crossing Gordon Street when they were struck by a northbound Jeep Cherokee.

Gordon Street was closed for several hours between Waterloo Avenue and Fountain Street for the collision investigation. The driver of the Cherokee remained on scene and was cooperative.

A 47-year-old Guelph female and 37-year-old Guelph male were both transported to hospital in Hamilton where they were listed Wednesday morning in stable condition.
