$70K in Cocaine Seized in Guelph
A Guelph man faces drug trafficking charges after Guelph Police Service officers seized more than $70,000 (Guelph Police has provided a correction to the value) worth of cocaine Tuesday.
In October, members of the Guelph Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit began an investigation into a male believed to be involved in trafficking controlled substances. Surveillance was conducted at his residence and a Woodlawn Road West business and warrants were obtained to search both locations and his vehicles.
On Tuesday afternoon the male was arrested at his business. During subsequent searches, officers located more than $70,000 in cocaine, $755 worth of Oxycodone pills, $14,245 in cash, two functioning scales and drug packaging.
A 37-year-old Guelph man is charged with two counts of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking. He was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
