Ajax Man Who Dropped Phone in Pokemon Card Theft Arrested

An Ajax man has been arrested following an incident in which thieves dropped a phone while stealing hundreds of dollars in Pokemon cards from a Guelph business.

The evening of February 9, police were called to a business on Stone Road West. A male and female placed several boxes of the trading cards in shopping bags and left the store. Staff tried to stop them and followed them outside, where one of the suspects dropped their phone while they were running to their vehicle.

The staff member was able to take photos of the suspects, leading to their identification.

A 35-year-old Ajax man turned himself in Friday and is charged with theft under $5,000. The female involved is still wanted for the same charge.
