Arrest After Male Shot in the Face with a BB Gun

A Guelph male faces assault and weapons charges after another male was shot in the face with a BB gun early Friday.

Approximately 5:30 a.m. Friday, emergency services were called to the area of York Road and Cityview Drive South for reports of an injured male. Investigation revealed the male had been sitting outside an address on York Road when another male known to him approached and shot him over the left eyebrow with a BB.

Approximately 3:20 p.m. Friday, officers located the subject male leaving a downtown business where he had unsuccessfully attempted to sell the BB gun. The male was arrested and a search incident to arrest revealed a butterfly knife and suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

A 50-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault with a weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possessing a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of possessing a controlled substance and several counts of breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
