Arrested on Warrant After Leaving Country

A Guelph male who left the country while he had pending charges more than two years ago has been arrested.

In May, 2021, the male had been released on bail for charges including assault with a weapon and obstructing justice. He sent an email advising he would not be attending court as he was leaving the country.

On Tuesday a 53-year-old Guelph male turned himself in to the Guelph Police Service and is charged with failing to comply with a release order and breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing.
