Assault and Weapons Charges for Guelph Male

A Guelph male faces assault and weapons charges following his arrest early Wednesday.

Approximately 7:30 a.m. officers on patrol downtown spotted a male known to be wanted for assault causing bodily harm. He was placed under arrest and a subsequent search revealed a weapon similar to brass knuckles but made of hard plastic.

A 41-year-old Guelph male is charged with assault causing bodily harm, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possessing a weapon contrary to a prohibition order and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing Thursday.
