Assault Arrest 2 Years Later

A Waterloo woman has been arrested nearly two years after another woman was assaulted at a south-end Guelph home.

Just before 11:30 p.m. May 10, 2022, police were called to an address near Gordon Street and Edinburgh Road South. The victim reported she went outside and saw her boyfriend speaking to his former girlfriend.

The former girlfriend grabbed the victim from behind and punched her in the face. She also grabbed the victim’s phone and threw it, breaking the screen.

A 23-year-old Waterloo woman was arrested Saturday and charged with assault and mischief under $5,000. She will appear in court April 5.
