Attempted Theft of Pickup Truck in South-end

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a south-end resident was awakened Friday by someone trying to steal her pickup truck.

Just before 4 a.m. police were called to the area of Farley and Pine Ridge drives. A resident reported she was awakened by the sound of her Toyota Tundra’s alarm and looked outside to see the silhouette of someone inside the vehicle. Her husband ran outside but the suspect was gone.

A passenger-side window was smashed and the dash under the steering wheel had been ripped out, exposing numerous wires.

Anyone with information is asked to call Constable David Lee at 519-824-1212, ext. 7108, email him at dlee@guelphpolice.ca, leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
