Break and Enter Suspect Caught After Fleeing

On August 11, 2023, at approximately 2:50 am, Guelph police were alerted to a break and enter in progress in the north end of the city. The suspect is alleged to have been actively selling $3000-4000 worth of tools.

Upon police arrival, the suspect fled on foot. A short time later, police located the suspect in a shopping plaza.

The suspect is alleged to have given police a false name. Further investigation revealed his true identity and also the fact that the male was currently wanted for failing to comply with a release order, breaching a Probation Order and breaching a Conditional Sentence.

Further to the charges related to the warrant, the 38-year-old Guelph male was charged with break and enter and obstruct police. He was held for a bail hearing.
