
Break & Enter Investigation Leads to More Charges

On June 17th, 2023, at 9:55pm, an adult male attended to the front door of a residence located near the intersection of Willow Road and Edinburgh Road North in the City of Guelph.
He proceeded to kick the door, knocking it ajar and causing $600 in damage to the door frame. He then entered the residence.
The male left the residence prior to the arrival of members of the Guelph Police Service.
On July 10th, at 11:45pm, police observed the male drinking an alcoholic beverage outside in a commercial plaza located near the intersection of Willow Road and Dawson Road.
Police were aware that the male was currently wanted in regards to the following criminal charges:
- Break And Enter A Dwelling House With Intent
- Breach Probation x4
As police approached the male, he fled on foot. After a short foot pursuit, the male was arrested.
A search incident to arrest revealed:
- Folding knife
- 2.57 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
A 25-year-old Guelph male has been additionally charged with:
- Carry Concealed Weapon
- Possession Of A Controlled Substance – Schedule I
- Breach Probation x2
- Having Liquor In An Open Container In An Unauthorized Place
He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 11th.
