Caught on Video Holding Knife to Man’s Throat

A Guelph man faces a weapons charge after he was caught on video holding a knife to another man’s throat Thursday night.

Approximately 7:40 p.m. police were advised of a disturbance outside an apartment building near Dawson and Willow roads. The involved parties fled before police arrived, but surveillance video showed one of the males holding a knife to the throat of an unknown male who was seated in a car.


Officers searched the area and were able to locate the suspect a short distance away. A 24-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failing to comply with a release order.

The investigation, including efforts to identify the victim, is ongoing.
