Charges After Replica Handgun Pulled at ATM
A Guelph man faces several weapons charges after a replica handgun was brandished while people were using an ATM.
Approximately 8 p.m. Thursday police were called to a business near Speedvale Avenue West and Dawson Road. A man and woman were withdrawing cash when another man sitting on the floor nearby removed a black pistol from a paper bag and pointed it at the ceiling.
The complainants quickly left the area and called police, who arrived a short time later and arrested the male. A black Glock-style BB gun was recovered.
A 41-year-old Guelph man is charged with possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, breach of probation and five counts of possessing a weapon contrary to an order. He was held for a bail hearing Friday.
