Charges for Male Selling Police Seized Vehicle

Listen to this article

A Breslau male faces several charges including fraud for selling a vehicle which had been seized by police.

In late July, the Guelph Police Service began investigating a male known to be a prohibited driver. On three occasions he was observed parking a Dodge Durango just outside the downtown and walking to his workplace. On August 3 the vehicle was seized by police for further investigation. The licence plates on it were determined to be stolen.

Officers later learned the male had arranged to sell the vehicle and refused to return the buyer’s money even though the vehicle had been impounded.

On Tuesday a 27-year-old Breslau male was arrested. He is charged with possessing stolen property, fraud under $5,000, three counts of driving while prohibited and six counts of failing to comply with a release order. He was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
