Residents are reminded about the rules around e-scooter use after a child was injured in a scooter crash Friday afternoon.
Just before 1 p.m. emergency services were called to the west end where they found a 13-year-old boy suffering from facial injuries. Investigation revealed the boy took his older brother’s scooter for a ride but lost control and struck his face on the ground. The scooter collided with a neighbour’s car causing minor damage.
The child was transported to hospital for treatment.
Under the City of Guelph’s e-scooter bylaw, riders must be 16 or older and must wear a helmet if they are under 18.
