If you are being affected by the wildfire smoke, you can bet that outdoor critters are too, especially with the super-dry weather. Unless you live near a clean source of water, a plant pot bottom or pie pan of water placed in your yard may be much appreciated at this time! Change the water daily.
I put a rock in mine so smaller critters can get out if they fall in, and a small stick across for insects to be able to escape as well. Just be sure to put it in the open so smaller animals can see if a predator is lurking nearby.

The ongoing wildfires have started to affect the local air quality in Guelph and area. With today’s rain we can hope it may help to bring it within control.Â
