Dispute Over Ex-boyfriend Results in Multiple Charges
A Guelph woman faces assault and weapons charges after another woman was twice assaulted in her own home.
Approximately 7:30 a.m. October 22 the victim was home when she heard banging and found the other woman had broken into the home. When the victim went to confront her she was kicked in the chest and had body spray discharged into her face. As the suspect fled she smashed a window of the victim’s car.
The two women had been involved in a dispute because one was dating the other’s ex-boyfriend.
The next morning the victim was home when the accused began banging on her door. The two began arguing and the victim was struck in the forehead with some kind of blunt instrument. She quickly closed the door and the suspect used the same instrument to damage the screen door.
A 23-year-old Guelph woman was located Friday evening and arrested. She is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, assault, two counts of mischief under $5,000 and break and enter. She was held for a bail hearing and has been released to appear in court February 2.
