
Drug and Weapons Charges Following Theft

A Guelph man faces drug and weapons charges following an investigation into a theft.
Approximately 4 a.m. Saturday, a male entered the porch of an address near the downtown and stole a battery from a mobility scooter, rending the scooter inoperable. On Monday evening the responsible male was located downtown and placed under arrest.
During a search incident to arrest officers located a quantity of suspected crystal methamphetamine, cash, scales and other drug paraphernalia as well as a switchblade knife.
A 29-year-old Guelph man is charged with theft under $5,000, possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing an unauthorized weapon and breaching probation. He will appear in a Guelph court September 12, 2023.
