Listen to this article

Three Guelph females were arrested early Thursday as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

Earlier this month, the Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft Unit began an investigation into a female trafficking controlled substances at an address near Waterloo Avenue and Woodycrest Drive. Search warrants were obtained for three apartment units at that location.

The warrants were executed early Thursday morning. During the searches officers located 13 grams of cocaine with a street value of approximately $1,300, as well as a digital scale contaminated with drug residue, multiple cellphones and a cannister of pepper spray.

Also located were several identity documents, mail, cheques, vehicle ownership documents and student cards not in the name of any of the occupants.

Three Guelph females – aged 41, 42 and 44 – are charged with possessing cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a weapon, possessing stolen property under $5,000 and breaching court orders. Two were held for bail hearings and the third was released to appear in court October 31.
