A Guelph male has died from injuries apparently sustained when he fell from an electric scooter last week.
Emergency services were called last Wednesday night to Victoria Road South near Macalister Boulevard after passersby located an unresponsive male at the side of the road. The male had sustained serious head trauma and was located next to an electric kick scooter.
The 52-year-old Guelph male was transferred to a Hamilton trauma centre where he has since passed away. The Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit continues to investigate the incident, but at this point do not believe the male collided with a motor vehicle.
Police would like to hear from any member of the public who may have seen a male operating an electric kick scooter on Victoria Road South between Arkell Road and Stone Road East shortly after 9 p.m. August 16. Police are also seeking members of the public who may have any dashcam video in the area at the time, whether the subject male was observed or not.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Guelph Police Service Traffic Unit at traffic@guelphpolice.ca or to call 519-824-1212 ext. 7514.  Â
