A routine disturbance call on Fife Road took a violent turn early Friday when an arrest escalated into multiple assaults on a responding officer. What began as a report of property damage quickly unfolded into a situation police say no one expects during a standard call.
A Guelph woman faces charges after a police officer was kicked twice and spat on while responding to a disturbance early Friday.
Just after 1 a.m. police were dispatched to an address on Fife Road for a report of a woman damaging a neighbour’s door. Officers located the woman and placed her under arrest. While being walked to the cruiser, the woman kicked an officer in the shin. She was placed in the cruiser, but kicked the same officer twice in the torso and spat on his cheek.
A 21-year-old Guelph woman is charged with three counts of assault police and mischief under $5,000. She will appear in court January 9.
