Two Guelph men face impaired driving charges following separate incidents early Friday.
Approximately 12:20 a.m., an officer was patrolling in the area of Eastview Road and Mountford Drive when he saw a vehicle doing a burn-out, with a large amount of smoke and the smell of burning rubber. A traffic stop was conducted and once the smell dissipated the officer noted an odour of alcoholic beverage on the driver’s breath.
The driver failed a roadside breath test and was transported to the police station, where testing confirmed he had more than the legal amount of alcohol in his system.
A 29-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired driving and stunt driving. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. He will appear in court October 24.
