Erin Man Arrested After Hit and Run

An Erin man was arrested following a hit and run collision Thursday night.

Approximately 10:20 p.m. several witnesses reported seeing a pickup truck strike an SUV in a parking lot on Woodlawn Road West before driving away. One witness said the driver of the pickup appeared to be drinking a beer.

An officer located and stopped the pickup a short distance away and noted alcohol on the driver’s breath. He conducted a roadside breath test which resulted in a warning and located an open can of beer beside the driver’s seat.

A 28-year-old Erin man is charged with failing to stop at an accident and driving with open alcohol. His license was suspended for three days. He will appear in court June 18.
