Expensive Meat Stolen from Guelph West-end Business

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a male fled a west-end business with more than $200 worth of meat products Wednesday.

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. a loss prevention employee observed a male ordering expensive steak tenderloins at a business near Paisley Road and Imperial Road South. The employee followed the male around the store as he selected a large amount of merchandise and placed it in his cart before hiding the steaks, packages of chicken and other items in a backpack. He abandoned the cart and exited the store, where the employee attempted to place him under arrest. The male resisted and fled on foot.

He was described as a white male, mid- to late-40s, black and grey curly hair and reading glasses. He was wearing a black t-shirt, denim shorts and black biker gloves and carrying a black backpack and a second backpack described as white with pink animals all over it.

Anyone with information is asked to call Constable Rick Towlson at 519-824-1212, ext. 7158, email him at rtowlson@guelphpolice.ca, leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
