Failing to Comply with Court Orders, Woman Arrested in Relation to 2 Stolen Vehicles

A Guelph woman has been arrested in connection with two different stolen vehicle investigations.

On November 27, 2022, police investigated a single motor vehicle collision on Regent Street involving a stolen Infinity SUV. The occupants fled prior to police arrival but were described by witnesses.

Officers collected DNA samples from the interior of the SUV and sent them for analysis. They were determined to match someone on the national DNA database.

On January 13 this year, officers attended the parking lot of Guelph General Hospital where they located a Mazda 3 which had been stolen from Kitchener three days earlier. Surveillance video showed a male driving the car with a female passenger.

Officers patrolling downtown Tuesday afternoon spotted a female outside a business on Wyndham Street North and knew she was wanted in connection to both investigations. She was arrested without incident.

A 29-year-old Guelph woman faces several charges including three counts of possessing stolen property over $5,000, two counts of occupying a stolen vehicle, several counts of driving while prohibited, failing to comply with court orders and failing to attend court. She was held for a bail hearing Wednesday.
