Forced Entry into Downtown Apartment – Male Arrested

A Guelph male was arrested Monday after a break-in to a downtown apartment was caught on video.

Approximately 7:40 a.m. Sunday, a male was captured on surveillance video repeatedly slamming his shoulder into an apartment door until it broke open. The male entered the unoccupied apartment then quickly left the area. Damage was estimated at $500.

On Monday evening, a male was arrested by officers investigating an unrelated matter on Willow Road.

A 42-year-old Guelph male is charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling, mischief under $5,000 and breaching probation. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
