“People shop at the Clothing Closet for free clothes to help offset rent and grocery expenses”, says Lisa Burke, coordinator of the Clothing Closet at New Life Church and Caught in Guelph (and Area) community member. “Others are motivated to donate their excess clothing to make life easier for others. It’s a beautiful circle. Together, our community is more resilient.”
The Clothing Closet is a place to get good quality used clothing for free.
We are anticipating a rush on kid’s clothes in August and September. We’ve had quite a few new people discover the relief of shopping for free, quality clothing in a dignified way. With school just around the corner, parents are needing to outfit their growing kids and The Closet helps alleviate the pinch.
Our big needs are kid’s clothes, especially tops size 7-14. All spring, we had a challenge keeping enough larger kid’s sizes in stock. We are counting on people to join us in making life easier for those who appreciate some help in stretching their dollars.
Donations: The Clothing Closet gratefully accepts in-season clean, quality clothing and linens, which can be dropped off at New Life Church, 400 Victoria Rd. N, Guelph. Please do not leave donations outside.
