As the back-to-school season approaches, it’s imperative for both drivers and pedestrians to be extra vigilant on the roads. Drivers should be particularly cautious in school zones, reducing speeds and always being on the lookout for children who might dart out between parked cars or cross the road unexpectedly.
Obeying school bus signals is crucial; when a bus displays its stop sign and flashing lights, drivers must stop in both directions. For pedestrians, especially students, it’s essential to use crosswalks, wait for the appropriate signals, and make eye contact with drivers before crossing.
Both drivers and pedestrians should avoid distractions, such as mobile phones, to ensure the safety of everyone during the busy back-to-school period.
Have a wonderful school year!
