Guelph Driver Caught Speeding at 209km/h

A driver from Guelph was apprehended for exceeding the speed limit by more than double on Highway 401.

A social media update from the OPP, shared at around 3 a.m. on Wednesday, reported that the Mississauga OPP division pulled over a 21-year-old who was recorded driving at 209 km/h in a zone where the speed limit is 100 km/h, close to Milton. 


The motorist reportedly claimed, “I was only doing 129,” according to the statement.

Charges against the motorist include stunt driving, operating a vehicle without a valid license, and failure to present an insurance card.

Following the charges, the individual faced an immediate 30-day suspension of their driver’s license and a two-week impoundment of their vehicle.
