Guelph Male Charged with Murder
Listen to this articleA Guelph male has been charged with murder in connection with the death of a woman found at a local motel earlier this month.
Just before 11 a.m. October 15, emergency services were called to a motel on Woodlawn Road West near Woolwich Street. A female in her 50s was found deceased. As a result of a post-mortem examination the death was determined to be a homicide.
Through investigation it was determined the victim and suspect were known to each other. Approximately 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect was located at a business near York Road and Victoria Road South and arrested.
Mohammad Mohammadi, 20, was virtually present via a video connection from the Guelph police station during his appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice on Wyndham Street on Wednesday afternoon. He faces a charge of second-degree murder.
