
Guelph Male Faces Drug and Other Charges

A Guelph male faces drug and other charges after he was arrested Thursday morning.
Members of the Guelph Police Service Break Enter Auto Theft (BEAT) unit were conducting proactive patrol in the north end of the city when they observed a male party that was wanted on two outstanding warrants. One warrant was a surety revocation warrant and the other was following an attempted traffic stop.
Just after 11 a.m, the male was taken into custody after he attempted to flee on foot. During a search of the male a quantity of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine was found on his person and in his property. The total value of the seized drugs is estimated at $3,500. Police also seized a quantity of Canadian currency following his arrest.
A 31-year-old Guelph male faces three counts of possessing controlled substances for the purpose of trafficking, flight from police, dangerous operation of a vehicle and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
The male was held pending a bail hearing.
