Guelph Man Arrested After Fleeing Police on Stolen Motorcycle

On May 14th, 2024, at 12:12pm, police observed an adult male driving a motorcycle near the intersection of Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue East in the City of Guelph.

The male was known to police and believed to be an unlicensed driver. Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop to confirm, however the male refused to stop and sped away. A pursuit was not initiated due to concerns for public safety.

Further investigation revealed that the male was a suspended driver, was never licensed to drive a motorcycle and the motorcycle had been stolen two weeks earlier.

On July 5th, at 6:36pm, police located the male in the downtown core, and he was subsequently arrested.

A 32-year-old Guelph male has been charged with:

  • Driver While Under Suspension
  • Driver Motor Vehicle – Improper License
  • Flight From Police
  • Possession Of Stolen Property Over $5,000
  • Occupy Motor Vehicle Without Consent

He will appear in court on August 13th.
