A Guelph man faces a number of charges after several west-end homes were damaged Tuesday afternoon.

At 5:50 p.m. police were called to an address near Elmira Road North and Flaherty Drive. The homeowner reported a man had repeatedly thrown a crate at their front door — causing damage to the frame – and then destroyed their mailbox. The suspect then walked next door and threw a watering can, smashing the glass front door.

He then attended another nearby house where he entered the open garage and knocked over an e-bike before repeatedly kicking the home’s front door, causing minor damage.

A 35-year-old Guelph man was located in the area and arrested for three counts of mischief under $5,000 and being unlawfully in a dwelling. He will appear in court September 15. (Occurrence number GU26041264)
