Guelph Police Festive RIDE Results
Guelph Police Service officers laid two impaired driving charges during the recent Festive RIDE campaign.
More than 1,600 vehicles were checked during the initiative, which began in mid-November and ran over several days through New Year’s Eve.
Sixty drivers were asked to provide breath samples, resulting in two criminal impaired driving charges and six motorists having their licences suspended for three days after registering a warning on the roadside device.
The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to always consume alcohol and cannabis responsibly. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol or cannabis, and please ensure that you plan ahead so that you have a safe ride home. Anyone who spots a suspected impaired driver is asked to immediately call 911.
