In his three seasons with the OHL, Veccia has amassed an impressive 97 points, including 38 goals and 59 assists, in 166 regular season games. Additionally, he has accumulated 89 penalty minutes (PIMs). His playoff performance is equally noteworthy, with 3 goals and 4 assists in 16 OHL playoff games. His statistics over the seasons are as follows:

  • 22/23 Regular Season with Mississauga: 20 goals, 25 assists in 68 games.
  • 23/24 Regular Season with Mississauga: 8 goals, 21 assists in 37 games.

Burnett expressed confidence in Veccia’s abilities, noting his potential to impact all areas of the team’s game. Veccia’s acquisition by the Guelph Storm involved a trade for a 2nd-round pick (Guelph) in 2026, a 3rd-round pick (Kitchener) in 2025, a conditional 4th round pick (Guelph) in 2027, and a 5th round pick (Sudbury) in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection.

Veccia himself expressed excitement about joining the Storm, acknowledging Guelph’s strong team and excellent fan support. He sees this as an opportunity to bring his experience and contribute to the team’s success.

This acquisition is a clear indication of the Guelph Storm’s commitment to strengthening their lineup and enhancing their competitiveness in the league. Zander Veccia’s arrival is eagerly anticipated by the team and its supporters, who are looking forward to his contributions on the ice.
