Guelph Woman Arrested for Attempted Murder

A Guelph woman has been arrested for attempted murder after a man was stabbed at an east-end home Friday night.

Police were called approximately 9:45 p.m. to an address near Eastview Road and Starwood Drive where they found a man with multiple stab wounds. He was transported to an out of region trauma centre as a result of his injuries in life-threatening condition, but has since been upgraded to stable and continues to recover.


The parties are known to each other.

Just after 2 a.m. Monday, the suspect was located at an address near Woolwich Street and Speedvale Avenue and arrested. A 36-year-old Guelph woman is charged with attempted murder and possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

She was held for a bail hearing Monday.
