Guelph Woman Wins $5 Million on OLG Scratch Ticket

Caroll Uylett from Guelph is ecstatic after winning a staggering $5 million.

Employed in administration, Uylett hit the jackpot with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (OLG) Instant Mega scratch game. She’s been a lottery player for several years and is astonished by her multi-million dollar win.

“I was at home with my family when I played my ticket and realized I had won, but I was shocked,” Uylett shared in a Dec. 19 OLG press release. “I pulled out my phone to double-check on the OLG app and I still couldn’t wrap my head around it. I thought the app was broken — It had to be a mistake! I told my kids, ‘I think I just won!’ and they were in disbelief too!”

Uylett is still half-expecting to be told it’s all a prank.

“It’s an emotional journey from disbelief to happy tears,” she expressed. “It’s such a blessing. I am grateful for this win and all the wonderful things I can do with it.”

Her plans for the prize money include assisting her parents, securing her children’s educational future, and purchasing a dream home. “Family is the primary focus,” Uylett emphasized.

The $50-a-play Instant Mega game offers a top prize of $5 million. The lucky ticket was bought at Longo’s on Clair Road in Guelph.
