Guelph Youths Depart for Tim Hortons Camp Day

Listen to this article

Tim Horton’s popular Camp Day campaign pays off for many local Guelph youths.

As many local Guelph youths were loaded onto a bus for their 10-day trip to The Tim Horton Memorial Camp located in Parry Sound, Ontario, they were also treated to none other than special Tim Hortons treats, snacks and beverages to begin their journey.

Special thanks to Caught in Guelph (and Area) community member Jennifer Sorbara for the photos as her daughter Charlotte was fortunate to be experience the camp for the first time. Amongst other youths that includes recent Ukrainian residents as well.

Tim Horton Memorial Camp is the Foundation’s very first camp.  Opened in 1975 to honour and remember the great hockey player, Tim Horton, the camp is nestled in the woods alongside Lorimer Lake.  The beautiful waterfront is always busy with campers swimming, canoeing and kayaking.

The low and high challenge courses are available for campers to test out their teamwork skills. The camp’s Recreation Centre is a great space for indoor games and activities when the weather isn’t on our side.  There is also a Creative Arts Centre for campers to explore their creative side!

As part of the Summer Program experience, campers take part in wilderness trips of varying length of days, depending on your level.  Your trip will include hiking to an overnight site with your cabin group and learning new skills or putting old ones to the test!

To connect with the Tim Horton Memorial Camp give them a shout at 1-855-389-2773, or send a note to them at parrysound@thcf.com.

Thanks to you, Tim Hortons will uphold their mission to help youths from underserved communities across North America, empowering them to believe in their own potential and change their stories for the better.

Since 1974, Tim Hortons have worked with more than 315,000 young people, using camp experiences to develop social and emotional skills and learning and innovation skills. Their campers may remember the canoe trips and campfires best – but with your support, Tim Hortons is focused on the horizon, on ensuring youth have the skills and opportunities needed to thrive, pursue their education, find meaningful jobs, enrich their communities, and lead fulfilling lives.
