Hole Cut in Wall, $30K in Wire Gone – Guelph Police Seek Suspects

A routine Monday morning turned into a crime scene after staff discovered thieves had cut through a garage door, breached a wall, and hauled out tens of thousands in wire. The methodical break-in raises serious questions about who pulled it off – and whether they’ve struck before.

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after thousands of dollars in wire was stolen during a break-in to a west-end business.

On Monday morning, the manager of a business near Silvercreek Parkway North and Campbell Road arrived to find a hole had been cut in the wall to access the business. Investigation revealed a lock was cut off a gate to access the back of the building, where a hole was cut through a garage door.

Once inside, suspects cut through the drywall to access the complainant’s business. A quantity of wire valued at more than $30,000 was reported missing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Jillian Crawford-Bourke at 519-824-1212, ext. 7583, email jcrawford-bourke@guelphpolice.ca, leave an anonymous message for Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or leave an anonymous tip online at www.csgw.tips.
