Impaired Arrest Following Collision

A Guelph woman faces an impaired driving charge following a collision Sunday afternoon.

Approximately 4:40 p.m. police were called to a three-vehicle collision at Victoria Road South and Elizabeth Street. While speaking to one of the drivers officers noted signs of impairment and she was arrested. Analysis by a trained expert at the police station determined she was impaired by drugs.

A 39-year-old Guelph woman is charged with impaired driving. Her licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days. She will appear in court June 28.

The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to always consume alcohol and cannabis responsibly. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol or cannabis, and please ensure that you plan ahead so that you have a safe ride home. Anyone who spots a suspected impaired driver is asked to immediately call 911.
