A 40-year-old Guelph woman faces multiple charges after colliding with a parked car Saturday evening.
Police were called to the area of Severn Drive and Grange Road at approximately 9:35 PM in relation to a vehicle that had collided with a parked car. Police arrived on scene and located the female driver, still on scene. The driver advised they had consumed several alcoholic drinks several hours prior, resulting in the officers administering a roadside screening to the driver, which they failed.
The female was taken to the Guelph Police Station, where she was charged with Operation While Impaired and Dangerous Operation. The female also received a 90-day license suspension and had her vehicle impounded for 7 days.
The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to always consume alcohol and cannabis responsibly. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol or cannabis. And please ensure that you plan so that you have a safe ride home. Anyone who spots a suspected impaired driver is asked to immediately call 911.
