Impaired Driver Loses Control, Mounts Curb and Vomits

A Guelph woman faces an impaired driving charge after losing control of her car and mounting a curb Thursday morning.

Just after 9 a.m. police were called to a business on Woodlawn Road West. A woman had pulled into the business’ parking lot and sat in her car for approximately 15 minutes. She then began reversing across a busy laneway before coming to rest on the boulevard where she was seen vomiting.

Paramedics responded to transport the woman to hospital. She was observed to be unable to walk on her own. During a search of the vehicle officers located a grey powdery substance believed to be fentanyl.

Officers attended the hospital and placed the 43-year-old Guelph woman under arrest for impaired operation. Samples of her blood were collected for further analysis. She will appear in court March 15.
