Impaired Driving Collision at Willow West Mall

A Kitchener male faces impaired and dangerous driving charges following a collision in Guelph Wednesday night.

Approximately 10:10 p.m. a witness called to report a vehicle striking a light standard near Willow West Mall and fleeing the area. It was located nearby with significant driver’s-side damage.

The driver was transported to hospital for minor injuries to his face and upper body.

A 27-year-old Kitchener male is charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He will appear in court December 12.

The Guelph Police Service would like to encourage the public to always consume alcohol and cannabis responsibly. Please don’t drive if you are going to consume alcohol or cannabis, and please ensure that you plan ahead so that you have a safe ride home. Anyone who spots a suspected impaired driver is asked to immediately call 911.
