Intoxicated Teen Cuts Himself with Knife
A Guelph teenager faces several weapons charges following a disturbance Sunday evening outside a north-end business.
Approximately 8:30 p.m. police were called to a business near Woodlawn Road West and Woolwich Street. An employee reported a male outside with a knife making threatening comments.
Officers arrived quickly and located the male. He was placed under arrest and a search revealed a spring-assisted knife in his pocket. A 14-year-old Guelph boy is charged with possessing a prohibited weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and public intoxication.
The teen advised police he had accidentally activated the knife and cut himself on the ankle. He was transported to hospital for treatment. He will appear in court March 20.
