License Plate Reader Catches Wanted Driver

A Guelph man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after an automated licence plate reader flagged his vehicle.

Approximately 11:15 p.m. Monday, a member of the Guelph Police Service was patrolling downtown when his cruiser’s ALPR detected a vehicle registered to a male wanted for failing to appear in court on several property crimes.

The vehicle was pulled over and the driver confirmed to be the wanted male. A 43-year-old Guelph man is further charged with failing to appear in court. He was released with a May 17 court date.
