Two males were arrested early Wednesday after police seized large quantities of drugs, cash and a loaded handgun.
Earlier this summer, the Guelph Police Service began an investigation into two males believed to be trafficking controlled substances in the City of Guelph. Search warrants were approved for three residences and three businesses. At least one of them was on Hardy St as reported earlier this morning.
Early Wednesday morning the warrants were executed by members of the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit, Break Enter Auto Theft Unit and Tactics and Rescue Unit.
Officers seized approximately seven kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of $780,000, a half-kilogram of MDMA valued at nearly $40,000 and large quantities of dried cannabis, cannabis products and anabolic steroids. A value for the cannabis and steroids has not yet been determined.
Also seized was more than $27,000 in cash, a Glock semi-automatic handgun with high-capacity magazine, a replica handgun and a functioning conducted energy weapon.
A 37-year-old Guelph male is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing proceeds of crime and possession of illicit cannabis.
A 33-year-old Breslau male is charged with 11 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possessing cannabis for the purpose of selling and several firearms charges. Both were held for bail hearings Thursday.
