Listen to this article

A Guelph male has been arrested in connection with a series of hit and run collisions in late May, including one involving an e-bike.

The evening of May 26, a witness reported a white Chevrolet pickup struck two parked vehicles on Wellington Street West and drove away. Investigation determined the truck was stolen.

Minutes later, a collision was reported at Macdonell Street and Wyndham Street North. The same pickup collided with an e-bike. A female passenger on the bike sustained minor injuries but declined medical treatment. The truck was last seen eastbound on Carden Street.

A male was identified through surveillance video. On Monday a 32-year-old Guelph male was located downtown and arrested. He is charged with dangerous driving and two counts of failing to stop at a collision. He will appear in a Guelph bail court Thursday.
