Male Assaulted with a Rock Downtown Guelph

On July 11th, 2023, at 8am, two adult males were engaged in an argument in a parking lot located in the downtown core of the City of Guelph.

The argument escalated with one male punching the victim twice in the head, and then picking up a large rock and striking the victim in the head with it.

At 8:03am, police located the male a short distance away and he was subsequently arrested.

A 52-year-old Guelph male has been charged with Assault With A Weapon.

He will appear in court on August 26th.

Please note that the victim was transported to the Guelph General Hospital for treatment of a contusion on the back of his head.
