Male Assaults Two Guelph Police Officers

A Guelph male faces several charges after two Guelph Police Service officers were assaulted Friday evening.

Approximately 8:30 p.m. police attended for reports of a family dispute near Downey Road and Pheasant Run Drive. A male was located in the area but fled on foot when police arrived. He was caught following a brief foot pursuit.

The male refused to comply with police, scratching one officer on the arm and kicking the other in the shin. Neither officer required medical attention.

A 31-year-old Guelph male is charged with two counts of assault police, resisting arrest, criminal harassment and two counts of breaching an undertaking. He was held for bail and has been released to appear in a Guelph court July 11, 2023.
