Updated: Male Shot and Killed in Guelph; Investigation Continues

Guelph Police continue to investigate a shooting death in the area of Waterloo Avenue and Woodycrest Drive on Tuesday.

Police are requesting to hear from anyone who was in this area on Tuesday, September 12, between the hours of 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. in their vehicle with a dashcam.

Police are further requesting to hear from the public if they have any type of surveillance cameras on their residence or doorbell cameras between the same time frame in the same area.

The Guelph Police Service is investigating after a male was shot and killed late Tuesday.

Approximately 10:10 p.m., police responded to a townhouse at 387 Waterloo Ave., Unit 132 in the area of Waterloo Avenue and Woodycrest Drive after receiving reports of gun shots. Upon arrival police located a 37-year-old male with injuries from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident. The suspects were described as two black males with all dark clothing.

The investigation is ongoing by the Major Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Unit. There will be an increased presence of police in the area as the investigation continues.
